Coach Ethical Standards
These standards protect clients, coaches and the trust of the Elevated Wellness Coach Network. Every coach must review and electronically agree to them before an application can be created and must continue following them while using the Network.
STANDARD 1
Client welfare and autonomy
Center the client’s goals, values, informed choices, dignity and right to end the coaching relationship. Do not exploit dependence, pressure purchases, promise outcomes or use fear-based persuasion.
STANDARD 2
Coaching scope and referral
Describe services accurately. Do not diagnose, prescribe, treat disease, interpret medical tests, practice psychotherapy without appropriate licensure, or discourage licensed care. Refer to appropriately qualified professionals when a need is outside the coach’s education, credential, competence or legal scope. Direct emergencies to emergency services.
STANDARD 3
Confidentiality and private communication
Keep client identities, messages, documents, session information and personal details confidential. Use the assigned private client portal for client communication. A coach may access only clients assigned to that coach and must never attempt to view, disclose or discuss another coach’s client information. Do not post client information in the coach community.
STANDARD 4
Minimum necessary records
Record only information reasonably needed for coaching continuity, agreements, scheduling and lawful business operations. Use neutral, client-led language. Protect access links and devices, sign out on shared devices and promptly report suspected unauthorized access.
STANDARD 5
Truthful qualifications and marketing
Keep education, credentials, specialties, availability, pricing and verification claims accurate and current. Do not imply licensure, certification, medical authority or Network endorsement that has not been specifically verified and labeled.
STANDARD 6
Consent, boundaries and conflicts
Explain the nature and limits of coaching, fees, communication expectations, privacy practices and material financial interests before services begin. Maintain professional boundaries and disclose conflicts, affiliate compensation or other incentives that could influence recommendations.
STANDARD 7
Respectful and lawful conduct
Provide inclusive, non-discriminatory, non-harassing service. Respect intellectual property, platform rules and applicable professional, consumer-protection, privacy and advertising laws.
STANDARD 8
Accountability
Cooperate honestly with credential review, safety reports and reasonable Network investigations. Correct inaccurate information promptly. Serious or repeated violations may lead to profile restriction, suspension or removal.
Coach affirmation
By electronically signing the coach application, I affirm that the information I provide is accurate, that I will protect client confidentiality, and that I will follow these standards, the Terms of Use and applicable law. I understand that acceptance into the Network does not expand my legal or professional scope.
These standards are an operational business document, not legal advice or a substitute for the ethical code of a coach’s credentialing or licensing body. Attorney review is recommended before public enrollment.
